CBSE CLASS 12 BOARDS POSTPONED OR NOT??BIG NEWS

This is the biggest question for the career of students of class 12th.Till the date CBSE is not able to take the decision whether to cancel the exam or to again postponed it.

The CBSE had earlier this month announced the marking policy for class 10 board exams. According to the policy, while 20 marks for each subject will be for internal assessment as every year, 80 marks will be calculated on basis of the students' performance in various tests or exams throughout the year.

Schools across the country were closed in March last year to contain the spread of COVID-19 ahead of a nationwide lockdown.

Several states started reopening the schools partially from October last year, but physical classes were again suspended because of the rise in coronavirus cases.

Last year, the board exams had to be postponed mid-way in March. They were later cancelled and the results were announced based on an alternative assessment scheme.

A senior official in the Ministry of Education has reportedly told TOI that the likelihood of examination getting cancelled. “Given the current situation, there is a possibility of scrapping the exams altogether. CBSE will review the situation and probably would have to work out an alternative assessment scheme for the Class 12 students,” he told the daily. 

Meanwhile, the official word from the MoE and CBSE remains ‘under review’. The decision of cancelling the exams, another official points out, cannot be taken independently. However, given the present situation, an infinite delay and uncertainty is a point of concern. Due to the uncertainty relating to the board exams, several Class 12 Board Exam 2021 board exam candidates have taken to Twitter by using the hashtag #saveboardstudents. In the tweets, students are urging the authorities to cancel the Class 12 Board Exam 2021. Some have also suggested to evaluate them in a similar assessment criteria like the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students.
